A professional jazz singer who has been performing around the British Isles and Europe with her individual adaptations of jazz, soul and blues standards. After completing a music degree at Welsh College of Music and Drama, Matty went on to study with Keith Tippett, Anita Wardell, Louise Gibbs and Jan Pondsford. Matty has a dynamic vocal range that has led her to work in many diverse idioms such as contemporary opera for English National Opera and VIP cabaret nights in London to session singing over a variety of different dance beats and projects. One of the main projects has been running a successful residency for over a year and a half at Grand Central Pub, Surrey Street, Brighton. Matty's band, Lush Life and special guests perform their own interpretations and arrangements of jazz, blues, and soul. Matty is also currently working on a collaboration project called Kilter. The project is mixing improvised vocals, percussion performed live over DJ house beats of Oli L, Dave House, KINOBE and Will "LatenightLounging Records". This collaboration has been very successful and has a residency at The ThreeandTen Pub, 3 Steine street, Brighton every Friday and Saturday. The owners heard us in another thriving late night venue called the Fishbowl and basically handed us the batton. We were chuffed by this as they are the x-managers of the very sucessful Audio/Escape 2 club for 5 years and so were obviously not short of DJ acts to choose from!
