Lush life is an organically growing live jazz band ...it literally can grow
from a duo to a 7 piece over night! The "core" of talent comes from Tom Phelan, a really superb pianist whose talents have reached Ronnie Scotts and been snapped up by people like Trevor Horn!. The Drums are played with a wonderful sensitive Blue note feel, Alex Eberhard is a multi-musician and a joy to work with and finally on bass we have James Treasure, reknowned for his afro-beat, salsa weekly residencies at the Sidewinder and the Globe, he's always grooving with a smile on his face. We tend to use playful arrangments and
adaptations of some classic songbook Jazz that leads us to branch out into
reggae, soul, blues, funk and latin.
The band was conceived a year and a half ago and has enjoyed great success
in Sussex and London. Please look out in the local Brighton listings for
us. Our current venues include Joggleberries Playhouse, Silk Road, KOBA, Hanover pub, Princess Victoria pub, Jeremies Restaurant in Borde Hill. Lush life can also tailor for any event or occasion; whether
you require back ground lounge music or up beat dancing tempos.
